In 2016, Open MIC worked with an Apple investor who submitted the first-ever shareholder proposal addressing racial diversity in the tech industry. The proposal won 5.1% of the shareholder vote, sufficient to qualify for consideration again at Apple’s 2017 annual meeting. (Read about the proposal in Bloomberg, the Guardian, or CNN.)
